A scroll bar on the home page will always appear when the content of the page is too long to display in the Content Window.
This occurs when you use a large home page image or the flash movie and then add some text below it.
This can be remedied when the home page image is made smaller. This cannot be remedied if using the flash animation as the flash movie is designed to take up as much of the vertical space that is available without creating a scroll bar. Using smaller images within the flash animation will not have an effect, because the movie remains the same height regardless of the images used within it.
Sometimes, when copy is removed from the home page, some legacy html code remains which you cannot see and this too causes a scroll bar to be displayed when using a large home page image or the flash animation. This can be remedied by performing the following steps:
- Navigate the the HTML editor in Home Page Text section within the Home Page administration controls
- Click on the HTML link on the bottom left of the HTML editor
- Highlight all the visible code and press your delete key
- Press the green update button
