BigBlackBag V2 (version 2.0) was launched on October 1, 2009 as a complete replacement to our original system which was created in 2004. V2 uses several new technologies including Dynamic HTML and Ajax, which give our new templates a Flash-like appearance and feel without using flash technology. The major benefit to this, is that our websites remain very search engine friendly. Not only were our templates completely revamped but we built an entirely new administration web site as well, which makes creating, designing and maintaing your web site easier than ever.
What are some of the major differences?
- More templates to choose from with larger viewable areas
- Galleries are larger and run much slicker with intelligent preloading and buttonless thumbnail control
- Navigation layout is totally at your control and includes drop-down menus and sub-menus for great organization
- Interior pages are now templated and allow you to mix 'n match different types of content on each page
- The new super size feature detects your viewer's monitor settings, and if large enough, will display your website and all your images at 30% larger
Does it cost more?
Do I have to rebuild my website?
Unfortunately yes, as we use different types of data and much larger images than before, everything needs to be recreated.
What if I don't have time to build a new website?
You can start building your new V2 website and take as long as you like. Your V1 website will remain active while you build your new site. You decide when to switch over.
I'd like to switch, how do I get started?
Simply log-in to your V1 BBB account and press the Create V2 Account button at the top of your screen. This will create an account for you in our new administration website with the same username and password.
